🎥 Best Outdoor Family-Friendly Movies in LA 🍿

Outdoor Movies are a great way to get the family out (even if that means pushing bedtime). We’ve compiled a list of a few favorites, keep in mind there are a TON of outdoor movies happening around LA but we are primarily featuring the ones that have family-friendly options!

Movies @ The Steps — Culver City (Free)
Every Friday in June and July watch family-friendly “Movies at The Steps.” Each movie will begin at sunset (8:30pm). Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets to sit on. Complimentary popcorn will be provided.

Summer Poolside Cinema @ The Fairmont — Santa Monica (Paid)
Locals can enjoy poolside movies from June 2nd– September 1. There’s a diverse selection of original films and iconic blockbusters including family-friendly classics, romantic comedies, action-packed flicks and more. Attendees can also look forward to special surprise and delight moments throughout the summer series featuring giveaways, photo moments, and more. Pre-purchased ticket required for visitors which includes admission, free popcorn, and a rotating themed three-course set menu with options developed by the property’s farm-to-table, FIG Restaurant & Executive Chef Damon Gordon.

Beach Movie Nights @ Dockweiler Youth Center — Playa Del Rey (Free)
Enjoy FREE family-friendly movie screenings on the sand, by the waves, and under the stars at the Dockweiler Youth Center. Friday nights this summer, through August 30! Be sure to bring blankets and bundle up. All movies start at 8:00 pm.

Outdoor Movies @ Skirball Cultural Center — Los Angeles (Paid)
Kick back with friends for a night of movie magic under the stars! Inspired by the exhibition Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak, this year's series features three beloved films for children and adults. Arrive early to check out the exhibitions, grab drinks and popcorn, and watch the sunset over the Santa Monica mountains.

Family Flicks @ Hammer Museum- Los Angeles (Free)
UCLA Film & Television Archive and the Hammer Museum have teamed up for a free matinee screening series of new and classic family-friendly films from around the world. All Family Flicks screenings are free and do not require tickets; seating is first come, first serve. The Billy Wilder Theater opens 15 minutes before each Family Flicks program. This is not outdoors but is very family-friendly!
